Our Story
In 2005, we embarked on a journey to pursue our dream of living on a tropical island, leaving behind New Zealand. With the heartfelt blessings of our grandparents and parents, who have been the custodians of this island for generations, our adventure began.
Being the stewards of this land, which has been in our family for so long, was a profound honor. It provided us with the extraordinary opportunity to establish our home in the breathtaking Yasawas, a place that held cherished memories of family holidays and gatherings, as well as the construction of our grandparents' and parents' first island homes. These recollections served as the inspiration behind creating our very own haven.
The steel structural frames for our Natabe home were meticulously crafted in Auckland by Col and his father, then shipped to Fiji, where they embarked on an intricate journey by barge to reach the island. This undertaking spanned eight months, a testament to our commitment.
In 2012, our vision of a tropical retreat became a reality. Soon enough, we came to the realization that we couldn't keep the beauty of our home to ourselves. Opening it as a B&B for discerning travelers felt like the most natural progression.
We extend a warm welcome to you, inviting you to unwind, relax, and bask in the splendor of Natabe Retreat in the enchanting Yasawa Islands.
